The Future of Sustainable Poultry Is Here
Today, poultry is the most consumed animal protein in the United States — a vital input into the nation’s food supply. And despite the industry’s tremendous strides in efficiency, emissions reduction, and water usage, as well as its significant contribution to employment nationwide, it can still be better.
Poulterra’s circular, nature-based MaaS platform addresses many of the economic, environmental, and sustainability issues in poultry production today. Our progress will continue to drive poultry as the nation’s lowest-cost, lowest-carbon animal protein for American families.

Rob Tripp
Chief Executive Officer
Rob is the CEO and founder of Poulterra and has dedicated much of his career to entrepreneurship, with a focus on climate technology.
Before establishing Poulterra, Rob co-founded and led Benefuel through the development and scale-up of an innovative refining catalyst and process. This ground-breaking technology efficiently converted waste feedstocks into high-quality, low-carbon biodiesel and bio-based lubricants. Under Rob’s guidance, Benefuel successfully implemented two fully integrated demonstration plants in the US and Japan. The success of these demonstration facilities led to the development, construction and operation of one of the largest biodiesel refineries in the US, a facility licensed to Flint Hills Resources, the prominent operating subsidiary of Koch Industries. Through this, Rob facilitated joint venture partnerships and investments with industry giants such as Flint Hills Resources, Suncor Energy, Felda Global Ventures, and ITOCHU Corporation.
Preceding his tenure at Benefuel, Rob devoted four years to scaling up a wood shavings packaging business. This venture supplied essential bedding material to the poultry and equine industry across North America and Europe. Rob orchestrated the development, implementation, and operation of eight wood shavings packaging projects, spanning the Eastern seaboard.
Rob’s entrepreneurial journey began earlier with the co-founding of Clarity, a software development company. Clarity played a pivotal role in systems integration and process enhancements during the nascent stages of the Internet network. Prior to that, Rob was part of iSTAR Internet, a trailblazing Canadian company that achieved the distinction of being the first Internet company to go public in Canada.
Rob’s upbringing on a Canadian farm instilled valuable skills, where he mastered driving a tractor almost a decade before handling a car. In his leisure time, Rob enjoys playfully teasing his kids with bad jokes, skiing (almost in control), and attempting to reel in the elusive fish rumored to inhabit the lake by his cottage.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Carleton University.
